DRESSAGE TASTER CLASSES
Are you just stepping up to the next level? Perhaps you fancy a go but you’re not ready to take on a championship class just yet. Or maybe you fancy a go at a higher-level championship but would like a warm-up and confidence boost? Taster dressage classes are for riders wishing to take part in an Elementary or Medium test and receive immediate feedback from the judge. You may receive hints and tips about test riding, how to present a better test and potentially gain higher marks.

Each test slot is 10 minutes, rather than the usual 7 minutes to allow for a few minutes of verbal feedback from the judge immediately after the final salute.

Scoring: Taster classes are for education and confidence. Test sheets are scored in the usual way, but no placings are awarded.Dressage classes are judged under British Dressage rules. Callers and whips are allowed in open & taster dressage classes. Spurs are allowed which must be within British Dressage rules and appropriate for the level of competition. See www.britishdressage.co.uk/rules for
full British Dressage rules.

Taster Classes

They will give you hints and tips about how to present a better test and improve your marks. Thursday’s Elementary Taster class is immediately prior to the Small Tour Elementary Championship, so you could also use this as a handy warm-up for the championship! Friday’s Medium 63 can be ridden both in the Open class in the morning and the Taster class in the afternoon.
